The María La Gorda Villa, located on the southern coast of Cuba's westernmost tip, on the Guanahacabibes Peninsula, Pinar del Río province, boasts a combination of natural diversity and beautiful sea bottoms. One of the most special characteristics of the area is the presence of coralline formations, including black corals, at a depth of 14 meters, as well as marine species such as barracudas and red snappers. Experts have ranked the sea bottoms at María La Gorda among the top ten in the Latin American continent, due to the abundance of marine species and breathtakingly-beautiful corals.
